Indeed with six par 3´s, six par 4´s and six par 5´s it is a
beautiful and
challenging course to play.
With its wide and varied greens, exquisitely designed by
Pepe Gancedo,
El Chaparral golf course is the ideal course for all types of
play.
The Clubhouse of El Chaparral golf is situated in a
prominent position at
the heart of the golf course.
With panoramic views over
the golf course and the sea, its position
overlooking the 1st tee and 18th
green is ideal.
The beautiful golf resort of Alhaurin overlooks the
Sierra de Mijas Hills
and the Mediterranean Sea and is located just at 20
minutes drive
from the Mijas Costa and 25 minutes from Malaga Airport and
Marbella.
Alhaurin Golf offers an 18 hole golf course designed by
Severiano Ballesteros.
The course is hilly since it follows the natural
contours of the landscape
which certainly makes it a challenge with every hole
being unique and a real
test of every part of your golf game.
The golf course is well maintained and the natural
vegetation is a sample of
Mediterranean forest where you can find pine trees,
oak trees, cypress, orange trees and a wide range of herbs.
The Mijas Golf Resort is a popular destination with
holiday golfers on the
Costa del Sol, the resort consists of two beautifully
maintained golf courses
both of which were designed by Robert Trent Jones
Senior, the world
renowned golf course architect.
Los Largos
Los Lagos was the first of the two golf courses and is the
longest.
Although the wide fairways and light rough present this course a
friendly light,
you should be aware of the nine lakes, from which the course
gets its name
and which easily trap the ball. It is a course with soft movement
and large greens.
It could be said that the American designer wanted to present
a course
especially for amateurs, but at the same time, it can present a challenge
for the best players.
Los Olivios
The main feature of Los Olivios which distinguishes this
course from Los Largos
golf course is the abundance of trees, hence the name,
and its smaller size
as well as fewer water hazards. The greens are smaller,
undulating and well defended.
Although both are the work of the same designer,
there is no doubt there are
interesting contrasts between the two courses.
If
Los Lagos is based on water hazards and sand, Los Olivios is strategic narrow
tree
lined fairways and elevated greens.
Both course provide unique challenges
and are ideal holiday golf courses.
